The Ignatian Centre is a Jesuit apostolate run by laity dedicated to bringing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola to the population of Greater Montreal. The Centre offers spiritual direction for individuals, programs for groups and parishes and plays an important role in the training and certification of spiritual directors.
The Centre is conveniently located in the Notre-Dame-de-Grace borough of the City of Montreal, near the Loyola campus of Concordia University and Loyola High School. Our facilities include meeting rooms, a library and a chapel.
As a lay organization, our services are available to anyone wishing to explore an alternative spirituality based in the Christian tradition, regardless of religion or faith.
The Ignatian Centre is a registered Canadian charity, founded by the Montreal Jesuit community in 1976.
Would you like to be matched with a prayer companion or spiritual director?
Prayer Companions are sympathetic listeners rather than problem solvers. They help people in recognizing and responding to God's presence in daily life.
Spiritual directors help people in discerning new experiences (spiritual, religious or important life events) or when facing an important or difficult decision. Spiritual directors are also assigned to people wanting to experience the full Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in the "Daily Life" program.
Our accredited prayer companions and spiritual directors are bound by the Centre's code of ethics.
